SORIN (SOcially Responsible INitiative)
In my top 5 world problems post, thinking like an impact sociologist, I listed capitalist cultural hegemony as the top problem. So this elevator pitch is for SORIN, the socially responsible initiative, a movement dedicated to social justice in the financial services space.
The three key initiatives that I envisage for SORIN are:
The three key initiatives that I envisage for SORIN are:
- Establish a brand for socially responsible financial services so everyone knows what is and is not socially responsible.
- Create a sustainable Gap Fund for individuals and families who struggle with unexpected financial hardships like a hard working family that doesn't realize that cracks in the basement are not covered by home insurance or the people who are not able to make student loan payments because they lost their job.
- Launch a hybrid financial services platform that transparently distributes socially responsible products and services without compromise
The government and Wall Street have led millions of middle class Americans down. The poor have welfare and numerous charities to fall back on but middle class families do not have a safety net waiting for them when they run into financial problems.
I hope SORIN becomes our movement, the birth of our economic revolution!
Your presentation and organization of your ideas was spot on! You have an awesome opportunity here, and it is clear that you have a great amount of knowledge on this topic. I completely agree with you on the fact that there is no fall back plan for middle class people. The issues that face middle class Americans seem to have been overlooked in the past few decades. You make an excellent point here that needs to be addressed. I hope that you continue to pursue this issue and make this idea a reality!

Hello Farrukh,
ReplyDeleteThat's by far my favorite idea and you can very much turn it into reality. The middle class is usually ignored even though it consists of the hardest workers and not to mention, the majority of people.
Keep up the good work!

Farrukh,
ReplyDeleteI love how you started your presentation with numbers and facts. It shows how necessary your proposal is and really pulls in the viewer immediately. I also enjoy how you had 3 distinct initiatives. It shows how much you've thought this through and how passionate you are. The idea as a whole is a rather large endeavor, but a very necessary one.
